Radiation Cake Clothing

Radiation Cake Clothing

Radiation Cake isn’t your typical clothing company. You might have seen their shirts in local tattoo shops or at Park Ave Fest. While local clothing lines are a common sight in this city, it’s not everyday you see a dismembered Pee Wee Herman on the front of a shirt.

The two owners originally began business making custom Halloween costumes under the name Rotten Customs. They started making hats and shirts as a way to promote their business, eventually creating an entire clothing line under the new name radiation cake.

Their designs still reflect their horror roots, Frankenstein, and arms holding a human heart, and slogans like “Fuck Everything, Wear Cake, Kill Everyone”. They are even throwing what looks to be the biggest and baddest Halloween party in the city,  Creepfest, transforming Montage Music Hall into a horror story. After seeing their old costume designs I doubt anyone will be disappointed.

What really resonated with me is their attitude about starting a clothing company, or really any company: “You have to be creative. It’s the only way you’re going to make it. You just have to keep plugging away at it, people give up on their dream too easy. We have been doing this for two years just to get to the point we are at now.  All you need to do is keep working at something you love to do and eventually its going to go somewhere.”

These guys are killing it right now, and I hope to see them expand out of Rochester. They are releasing a new batch of designs soon as well as a video. I’ll be sure to keep you posted when everything gets released.
